Hooray for SuMmEr!! I'm so glad that the winter weather has finally ended!! Hopefully we don't get any snow in July... but you can never really tell...
So far, the summer has been fantastic!! Mike's been playing softball and even had a tournament last Saturday. He's been doing great, but his teams haven't... during the tournament, they made it through the first game with no problems, but lost the next two. Needless to say, they were eliminated. He has a game, tonight, with the National Guard team he's been playing on with his brother... so, keep your fingers crossed.
While Mike was playing in his tournament, I was in Pocatello with my mom and sister. We had a big family reunion with all of the relatives on my mom's side of the family. The trip up was pretty nice, we went to breakfast and Declan was a little angel during the ride there. He got really excited when he saw the pool... he'd just finished the last of his first swimming lessons! The aquatic center was great!! They had a lazy river, a tube slide, and even a lilly pad game. They kiddie pool was so cool, even I wanted to play on it. The sad thing is, that even though he was so excited to go swimming, Declan only wanted to walk around the rim of the kiddie pool.
I spent a lot of time with my favorite cousin, Brittany. She's married to another Mike who, ironically, has the same birthday as my Mike. They're having their first baby in October and she's adorable with her tummy!! We also got to hang out with our cousins, Scott and Dan! They were like the big brothers we never had when we were growing up. It's so fun to see them being responsible parents, because they were pretty goofy. Scott married one of our favorite babysitters and we love them, all!! I'd almost forgotten how much fun our extended family is... and I'm so grateful that we got to see them!!
My favorite summer activity has always been going on slip n' slides!! On Monday, we had a party with all of Mike's family. One of his aunts brought a HUGE slip n' slide... even though I was wearing work out pants, I couldn't resist! We raced, we jumped, we went down in foursies... and no one got hurt, too bad!! After playing in the water for a couple hours... we had a big family soccer team... it was a blast!
Welp, that's about it for now. I can't wait to add some new pictures!!
Happy 4th of July!!
Love,
Brit
